Books Read in January 2022

Heartstopper (Volume 3) -Alice Oseman

While I was back home visiting my family for Christmas, I went to the mall with my dad and my nephews but I've been dealing with some health issues and my pain was really bad that day (and the mall was super crowded) so I ended up sitting in a chair at Barnes & Noble and reading the first two volumes of the Heartstopper series while they were shopping. I like this series. I love graphic novels but my library system doesn't have a lot of the ones I want to read and I will not buy graphic novels because I read them in a day. I rated this book 3 stars.

Blame It On The Mistletoe -Beth Garrod

I absolutely adored and loved this book so much. The characters, the plot, the setting... I loved it all. I rated this book 5 stars.

Adequate Yearly Progress -Roxanna Elden

I did not enjoy this book at all. I rated it 1 star.

All I Want For Christmas -Wendy Loggia

This is another super cute Christmas novel. I wasn't able to get to all of the Christmas books I wanted to read in December which is why I read 5 of them in January. I rated this book 4 stars.

One Way or Another -Kara McDowell

This was a super cute book and I really enjoyed it. I want to read this author's other novels as well. I rated this book 4 stars.

I'm Dreaming of a Wyatt Christmas -Tiffany Schmidt

The theme of January... I read some really great Christmas books and this was another one. I loved the characters, the plot, and especially the setting. This would make a super cute Netflix Christmas movie (as would the other Christmas novels I mentioned above). I rated this book 4 stars.

Nick & Noel's Christmas Playlist -Codi Hall

I had super high hopes for this novel and I was so excited to read it. However, it was such a huge disappointment. My main problem with it: there was hardly any Christmas themes in it at all. To me, the title would have made more sense if it was just called Nick & Noel's Playlist, since Christmas was not a main or central theme to the story (in my opinion). I rated this book 2 stars.

The Love Hypothesis -Ali Hazelwood

I loved this book so much. I couldn't stop smiling while reading it. I think this would make a super cute movie too. I'm so excited for Ali Hazelwood's second novel but it doesn't come out until this summer and I wish it came out sooner. I rated this book 4 stars.

What was your favorite book you read in January?

  3. I'm glad you found some respite at B&N. Sometimes there's nothing a book can't help with.
