What's Up Wednesday (9/30/15)

1. What We're Eating This Week...

Monday: Chicken wings, vegetable
Tuesday: Salmon, quinoa with kale, & broccoli
Wednesday: Tonight I'm going out to Outback with a friend

2. What I'm Reminiscing About...

When my nephews and nieces were little and how grown up they are getting. I really miss them and I hope to visit them as soon as I can.

3. What I'm Loving...

That the New York Mets clinched the NL East and are playoff bound!! They haven't been to the playoffs since 2006 so I'm super excited for the postseason! I'm also loving that it's Fall and that it's the pumpkin everything time of year. I'm also loving (as always) planning in my Erin Condren Life Planner.

4. What I've Been Up To...

Trying to find a full time job and watching lots of baseball!

5. What I'm Working On...

As mentioned above, I'm trying to find a full time job.

6. What I'm Excited About...

Post season baseball and that the Mets clinched the NL East.

7. What I'm Watching/Reading...

Watching: Lots of my favorite shows that have returned for the Fall and new shows. The new shows I'm going to check out and see if I lke are: Quantico, Scream Queens, Blood & Oil, Grandfathered, Truth Be Told & Chicago Med. So far, I've watched Scream Queens and Blood & Oil and I enjoyed both. I have the pilot episodes of Quantico & Grandfathered on my DVR and the other two shows haven't started yet.

Reading: A Place For Us by Harriet Evans ; She is one of my favorite authors but I'm really struggling with this book because there are so many characters and details and I'm getting confused easily.

8. What I'm Listening To...

I'm currently loving and listening to all things Andy Grammer!

9. What I'm Wearing...

I'm still wearing lots of tank tops and shorts as it's still really hot here.

10. What I'm Doing This Weekend...

I'm getting my flu shot and I need to go to a few stores. I'm also going to my grandma's for dinner one night and as always, watching lots of baseball. Other than that, I need to clean my bathroom, vacuum and I plan on finishing the book I'm struggling to get through.

11. What I'm Looking Forward To Next Month...

My mom & dad's birthdays, postseason baseball, pumpkin everything, & Halloween.

12. What Else Is New...

I think I've covered everything.

13. What Is My Favorite Halloween Tradition...

Baking Halloween Funfetti cookies, watching Hocus Pocus & other Halloween/scary movies, handing out candy to the kids trick or treating and seeing them dressed up and happy, decorating for the holiday, and just enjoying all the holiday and Fall season has to offer.

Five on Friday: Fall Favorites

Linking Up With...

Fall is definitely my favorite time of year and I wanted to make a post about some of my favorite things about Fall.

Credit: Heather A. Stillufsen @ Rose Hill Design Studio

1. Pumpkin Everything

I love pumpkin flavored and pumpkin scented products as well as pumpkin/fall/Halloween/Thanksgiving decor. I love going to Hobby Lobby, Target, Walmart, Michael's, AC Moore, Marshall's and TJ Maxx all the time but especially during the Fall & Winter seasons. I've already brought a bunch of pumpkin food products and as of last weekend I had my first PSL of the season. I've had lots of yummy pumpkin yogurts. My favorite brands are Chobani Greek yogurt (as well as the pumpkin harvest Chobani flips) and the Noosa brand from Target. I've tried some other great pumpkin stuff as well, including pumpkin Poptarts.

2. Playoff Baseball & the World Series

I'm a huge sports lover and my all time favorite sport is baseball. This year I'm extra excited for playoff baseball as my favorite teams (I root for the Mets & Yankees and have since I was a little girl, but I would say I'm more of a Mets fan) are both in playoff contention with the Mets having an unbelievable second half of the season. The Mets haven't been in the playoffs since 2006 so I'm really excited to see what's in store for them.

3. Fall TV Shows Return

I love a lot of TV shows and I'm so excited when they start back for a new season! Some of my current favorite TV shows are Chicago PD, Chicago Fire, Law & Order: SVU, Survivor, Nashville, Grey's Anatomy, Chrisley Knows Best, and Dancing With The Stars. However, I do watch many more shows than that.

4. Autumn Nights

I love the crisp coolness in the air and one of my favorite ways to relax at night in the Fall (and Winter as well) is reading books and magazines all curled up in my bed with my blankets and pillows. I also love watching TV shows & movies this way too. Hocus Pocus is one of my all time favorite movies and I watch at least 2-3 times every Fall.

5. Football Season

As I mentioned above, I love sports. Every Fall brings the arrival of the new football season. I was born & raised in NY and root for the Jets & Giants. However, since I live in the South now, I don't always get to watch those games on TV. When they are televised, you can bet that I'm watching them (unless my baseball teams are playing in playoff games), then I record them.

This Weekend...

This Weekend I...

-did some shopping with my mom at Target, TJ Maxx, & Torrid --> I got some groceries at Target as well as some other things I needed and I got a new shirt and a new tank top from Torrid and a case for my iPad on clearance at TJ Maxx

-ran errands with my mom and then we went to Starbcuks where I enjoyed my first iced PSL (I rarely drink hot coffee) of the season as well as a yummy pumpkin cookie and my mom enjoyed a hot PSL and a piece of pumpkin bread

-watched the Mets/Yankees Subway series games

-spent quality time with my fur babies
^Davey was trying to take a nap in the sun and Pumpkin came over and had to annoy him until he got up and left. Davey's "little sister" loves to tease and annoy her "big bro".

-wiped down the patio furniture & swept the patio

-put my stickers (for scrapbooking & planning) into organized binders

-went for a walk around the neighborhood with my mom

-read a lot and finished a great book
^Another amazing novel from Jane Green!^

Pop Sugar Must Have Box: September 2015

This is my second year subscribing to Pop Sugar Must Have Box and I'm such a huge fan of this subscription box and I really enjoy receiving it every month.

Here is what I received in my September PSMH Box:

^September Information card^

^What Inspired September's box^

Kris Nations "XOXO" Bar Chain Bracelet
Retails for: $35
I'm not a fan of gold jewelery so I gave this to my mom but the bracelet itself is pretty. Most subscribers received the "XO" earrings from Kris Nations but on my profile I let them know I don't have my ears pierced so I received the bracelet instead. PS also included a coupon for 20% off the Kris Nations website.

NCLA So Rich Vitamin-E Enriched Cuticle Oil
Retails for: $18
This was another miss for me. However, my mom loved it so now it's hers.

Too Faced Cosmetics Brow Envy Brow Shaping & Defining Kit
Retails for: $39
This product was another miss for me as I don't shape/define my eyebrows or wear a ton of makeup (only mascara, lip gloss/balm). My mom loved this product as well so I gave it to her. PS also included a coupon code for the Too Faced website.

Nourish Snacks Almond to Cherries
Retails for: $2
I liked this snack although I would have preferred to have something sweet as I love when I find sweet treats in my PSMH box.

Hudson & Bleecker Labyrinth Onyx Travel Trio
Retails for: $42
I love this product. It comes with two bags (both the same pattern) to keep shoes & intimates separted from the rest of your clothes while traveling. The clear pouch will come in really handy when I travel to visit my family and an added bonus is that it's TSA-friendly because it's clear.

Briogeo Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-In-Conditioning Spray
Retails for: $20
I use leave in conditioning spray every day and I was excited to find this in my box. I can't wait to use it and I'm sure I will love it.

Pop Sugar also included two coupon codes for me to give to two people who would like to try out the PopSugar Must Have Box. You will receive $10 off the purchase of your first box. If anyone wants one of these codes, leave a comment below. I have two so two people can benefit.

Overall, this wasn't my favorite box. I liked the conditioning spray, the travel trio, and the snack items. However, my mom loved the other products so everything will be used and loved. August & September's boxes haven't been my favorite but the rest of the year (so far), I've loved almost every product.

Do you receive any subscription boxes? If yes, which ones do you receive? If not, is there any subscription boxes you're interested in trying?

Blogging Is A Sisterhood

I was tagged by the lovely Jenny to answer 10 questions and then pick some bloggers and have them answer 10 questions I choose for them.

1. Why did you get into blogging?

I've been an avid Livejournal user but I decided I wanted a more public forum to write posts and to reach out and connect with other bloggers, which is why I started my own blog.

2. How did you choose your blog name?

My favorite word is joy and I wanted to incorporate that into my blog name. I've always loved the saying 'Be filled with joy' and 'Find joy in the ordinary' and I decided to use Be filled with joy as my blog name.

3. What is your favorite season & why?

Definitely, Fall. I've always loved Fall since I was a little girl. It's the start of the holiday season with Halloween & Thanksgiving. I love everything to do with pumpkins, whether it's food/scents/decorations/etc. Growing up in NY and now living in the South, Fall looks very different. I miss how Fall looks & feels in NY with the variety of multi-colored leaves and the crisp feeling in the air.

4. If you could choose one favorite clothing style or hair style from your past to bring back, what would it be?

I have no answer for this one. I guess scrunchies because I still wear them as the regular bands to put your hair in are too tight for me and it hurts me badly if I try to wear them because of how tight they are.

5. Do you have a favorite blog post?

I really like currents post like I'm currently.. watching/eating/drinking/wearing etc. posts.

6. Have you ever shared anything on your blog that you wish you hadn't after you had already posted it?

No, not that I can recall.

7. What's your favorite way to relax?

Reading books, magazines, & blog posts.

8. What would your dream job be?

Working with children. I would love to be a kindergarten aide or an assitant children's librarian.

9. What is one of your fears?

The death/loss of my family & loved ones.

10. Who would play you in a movie of your life?

One of my favorite actresses, Katie Holmes.

I nominate the following bloggers...

Nancy @ Nancyyounger

Elizabeth @ Elizabethashley

Katie Elizabeth @ Katieelizabeth

Shelby @ Recentsomethings

Here are the 10 questions:

1. Why did you get into blogging?
2. Have you met any fellow bloggers?
3. What are 2-3 of your favorite blogs?
4. Recommend a blog to read.
5. What is one of your favorite topics to blog about?
6. What is your favorite season & why?
7. What is your favorite book?
8. What is your most treasued item?
9. If you could live anywhere (regardless of cost), where would you choose to live?
10. What is your dream job?

Five on Friday

1. 14 years: September 11th, 2001

Today is a day of remembrance for those who lost their lives on 9/11, but it shouldn't just be today that we remember them, it should be everyday of our lives. I want to thank all of the heroes who gave their lives protecting us that day. I want to thank all of the heroes that continue to serve in our military and armed forces. I want to thank the heroes that go to work everyday and risk their lives to serve and protect us: police officers & firefighters. I want to personally thank MY HERO, my big brother. My brother worked the recovery efforts and I can't imagine the horrific things he had to see, experience, and endure. My brother has always been my hero. I love and admire him so much and I'm so lucky to have such a selfless and special brother like him. He is so courageous and brave. I'm so incredibly proud of my brother and all he has done. He is the best big brother a girl could ask for!!

2. Sinus Infection/Allergy Issues

I went to the doctor's on Thursday and I have a sinus infection. I had been having bad pressure in my head & face and a stuffy nose for over a week and it wasn't getting any better. I get two shots and antiboitics. I'm only feeling about 30% better. Last night, I couldn't sleep even though I was exhausted. I got about 4 hours of sleep total (if that). My doctor referred me to an allergist because I get at least 4-6 sinus and/or respiratory infections throughout the year.

3. Charles Esten & Clare Bowen Concert

I went to see Charles Esten & Clare Bowen in concert this past Saturday. The concert was great except for the fact that Clare Bowen's band music/audio was too loud and it overpowered her. You couldn't really hear what she was singing. That was a huge dissapointment since she is a really great singer. However, Charles Esten was fabulous!

4. Rookie Blue Season 6 Finale

Last week was the season 6 finale of Rookie Blue. It was Andie & Sam's wedding day. It was a really great episode. There isn't any news out yet on if they are coming back for a 7th season but I really hope they do as it's one of my favorite shows.

5. New York Mets

The Mets have been playing amazing lately. They swept the Nationals and are 7.5 games up on the Nationals in the NL East. They won last night against Atlanta. It's a very exciting time for Mets fans!!
