1. New York for the Weekend

I'm so excited to be heading to NY for the weekend to visit my family. I will get to see my family and spend quality time with them as well as see my nephews football games, my niece's soccer game, and watch the World Series games with my family.

2. NY Mets in the World Series

The Mets are down 2 games in the World Series. They lost Tuesday nights game in extra innings by 1 run and they lost Wednesday nights game by 6 runs. The next three games (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) are in New York and I really hope they can win them! Regardless of whether or not the Mets win the World Series this year, they had an incredible season. I'm a die hard Mets fan and if you asked me in the beginning of the season if I thought the Mets would be in the World Series this year, I would have said no. That says a lot about the resiliency, dedication, passion and heart of this team. Win or lose, whatever happens, I'm so damn proud of this team and so proud to be a Mets fan!

Weekending

Saturday:
My mom and I took my grandma out to eat at PF Changs and then we went to the movies to see The Intern starring Robert DeNiro & Anne Hathaway. It was a really good movie and it was very funny too! After the movies, we went to two stores: Francesca's and Barnes & Noble. I didn't buy anything at B&N but we did get coffees at the Starbucks there and I got a really pretty picture frame at Francesca's. After dropping my grandma off at home, I got a few things from Kroger and rented Pitch Perfect 2 from Redbox. That night I watched the movie, went on the computer for a while, and Facetimed with my nephews N & J.

Sunday:
I spent the day at home getting some things done: vacuuming, doing the dishes, helping with dinner, hanging wet clothes to dry, and writing out & decorating my nieces & nephews Halloween cards while watching the Jets & Giants games. In the morning, I also Facetimed with my sister C, niece A, and nephew M. I played peek a boo with my nephew and he was giggling up a storm. It was adorable. My niece also showed my her really pretty Halloween costume. When I returned the Redbox movie, I treated my mom, step-dad, and myself to ice cream. I came home and wrote a blog post and took a shower and then I read for the rest of the night before going to bed.

Pop Sugar Must Have Box: October 2015

This is my second year subscribing to Pop Sugar Must Have Box and I'm such a huge fan of this subscription box and I really enjoy receiving it every month.

Here is what I received in my October PSMH Box:

^October 2015^

^What Inspired Them for October^

^Information Card^

^What a wonderful thing to see! Keep up the great job, Pop Sugar!^

The Honest Company Sea Salt & Sugar Body Scrub
Retails for: $17
I have tried a few Honest Company products and loved them. I didn't know they made a body scrub until I saw the spoilers for this box. This product smells really good and I'm very excited to use it. It came at a good time too since I'm almost out of body wash.

Richer Poorer Hope Slipper Socks
Retails for: $15
From the information card: "We're wearing these pink slipper socks designed by PopSugar through October to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Richer Poorer proudly supports the fight against breast cancer and the important work of Right Action for Women." I think it's awesome that PopSugar included an item to promote Breast Cancer Awareness month as well as making a donation to Right Action for Women. These socks are incredibly cozy and fuzzy and I know I will get good use out of them in the upcoming months of Winter.

Savvy Sleepers Luxury Satin Pillowcase
Retails for: $36
I'm going to give these pillow cases (my purchase of this months box overlapped with a previous purchase and I ended up getting two October boxes) a shot and I really hope I like them. I'm very particular about pillow cases/sheets/etc. but these feel really soft and I think I'm going to like them!

Easy, Tiger Brown Paper Liquor Bag Set
Retails for: $8
This set includes 5 bags. This is the only product I didn't like this month but my mom will use these so I gave both sets to her.

Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling
Retails for: $25
I really love when Pop Sugar sends books in their boxes. This is Mindy Kaling's second novel. I haven't read her first yet but I'm going to borrow it from the library as I had been wanting to read her first book and her latest release.

Belgian Boys De Stroopwafel
Retails for: $1.59
These look really delicious and I'm very excited to try them. Sometimes it's a hit or miss when it comes to the snack items that PopSugar sends but I really like this selection!

Special Extras:
It's A 10 Miracle Leave-In Product
Retails for: $11.96
This product is one of my favorite hair products that I've ever tried. I don't always buy it because the regular size is pretty pricey but I splurge on it every once in a while. I'm very excited that PopSugar selected this item!

Danielle Stevens Monogram Gift Card
Retails for: $40
From the information card: "Use this $40 gift card to rock your own monogrammed statement piece." For the longest time, I've wanted to get a piece of jewelery with my nieces & nephews names and/or initials and I think I will try to find a piece from this website!

Overall, I absolutely loved this months box! There was only one item that I didn't like that I passed along to my mom. I'm also really excited that my purchases overlapped and I got two books! I'm going to keep the pillowcase, the beauty products, and the snack item from both books and I'm going to pass on the book, the gift card, and the socks from the second box to my friend. This box hit it out of the park for me! :)

Five on Friday

1. NY Mets Are Going to the World Series

This team had an amazing 4-0 sweep of the Chicago Cubs in the NLCS to become National League Champions and advance to the World Series. The last time the Mets were in the World series was in 2000 and the last time they won the World Series was in 1986, the year I was born. I'm so proud to be a Mets fan and I'm super excited for the World Series! LET'S GO METS!!

2. Weekend Plans

On Saturday, I have plans to go with my mom and my grandma to go to the movies to see The Intern and to go out to eat for lunch. Other than that, I need to dust and vacuum this weekend. I also want to catch up on my DVR and do some reading as well as watch football on Sunday.

4. Sam Hunt

My all time favorite singer is Kenny Chesney and my second is Sam Hunt. I've seen Kenny Chesney in concert three times and I would love to see Sam Hunt in concert. If you haven't heard of Sam Hunt, I recommend checking out his debut album, Montevallo. His voice and music are really amazing!!

That's all I have for this week! Have a great weekend, everybody!!

Five on Friday

1. NY Mets advance to NLCS

The Mets did it! They beat the Dodgers in Game 5 ; win or go home scenario. And they won 3-2 thanks to an amazing game played by Daniel Murphy, pretty good defense, and the ability for Jacob deGrom, who didn't have his best stuff to power through and get the win. I'm so proud of the boys and I'm so happy to be a Mets fan!!

2. Ear Infection

I went to the doctor's yesterday after experiencing bad dizziness and nausea the past week. It turns out I have a right ear infection with lots of fluid built up. I'm now on medicine and I feel about 25% better than yesterday so I'm hoping it will continue to clear up.

3. Mom's Birthday

Tomorrow is my mom's birthday. My mom is not only the best mom in the world to me and my siblings, but she is my best friend. I love spending time with her. She's given me so much throughout the years through her wisdom, guidance, advice, courage, and friendship. I would not be who I am without her and I'm looking forward to celebrating her special day tomorrow!

4. My Name Is Amy & I'm a Planner Addict

I'm obsessed with planning in my Erin Condren Life Planner and I decided to show the last week in my planners. Right now I'm using the 2015 and the 2015-2016 verisons of the Life Planner and once the new year starts, I will just be using the 2015-2016 one.

Baseball: Where My Loyalty Lies

My favorite sport, one of my biggest passions, is baseball. As the great Babe Ruth said, "Baseball was, is, and always will be to me the best game in the world."

^My 25th birthday cake that my family had made for me!^

Growing up in the suburbs of NY, I've had the love of baseball instilled in me since I was a little girl. As far back as I look, a lot of my favorite memories can be connected to baseball. My dad started taking me to baseball games when I was young. Throughout the years and the many games of baseball I've seen in person, my dad has always been the person sitting in the seat next to me and I wouldn't want it to be anyone else.

All of my life, I've always rooted for both the NY Mets and the NY Yankees. My dad took me to many Yankees and Mets games throughout the years. Naturally, I rooted for each team at each stadium.  I've watched & rooted for both the Mets and the Yankees throughout championship seasons,  playoff runs, epic collapses, great moments, unbelievable plays, terrible plays,  injury riddled seasons, epic highs and lows.

When I became a teenager and really started to follow the game on a regular basis, I still couldn't pick one of the NY teams and root solely for them. To me, it felt like I would be choosing which child I loved more by deciding to root for one team over the other. I just couldn't do it. I've felt this way throughout my teenage years and into my twenties. I'm currently in my late twenties and it's been these past couple of years that I've realized I've become more of a die-hard fan of one team over the other.  I figured it would happen eventually. When both teams play at the same time, which team do I watch? Which stadium would I rather go to when I go home to NY to visit? Which team do I always find myself reading about/etc.?

Credit: Buzzfeed.com

If you ask me today, what team is "MY team", I can honestly tell you, it's the Mets and not have a shade of doubt about it. Out of the 162 regular season games, for many years, I've watched almost all of the Mets games on TV (I get the MLB Extra Innings package since I don't live in NY anymore), went to Citi Field/Shea Stadium more often than Yankee Stadiums (both old and new), worn orange & blue more often, and have more Mets items (clothes/memorabilia/etc.) than Yankees. I read articles about the Mets and follow them on a daily basis. The past 3 years, the only Yankees games I've watched are when they play the Mets during the Subway Series.

As I am and continue to be a lifelong fan of the game, I have made my loyalty known and I'm a die-hard Mets fan.
