Books Read In July 2019

The Friends We Keep by Jane Green

I really like Jane Green's novels and I have the rest of her novels that I haven't already read on my TBR list. I really liked this novel. It was sometimes hard to keep with the alternating characters and story lines but overall I really liked it. I rated it 4 stars on Goodreads.

When You Read This by Mary Adkins

I didn't really enjoy this novel as much as I thought I would. It was a novel told through letters, e-mails, etc. and I normally love those types of novels but this one was kind of blah for me. I rated it 2 stars on Goodreads.

Girl, Stop Apologizing by Rachel Hollis

I really enjoyed this novel, just like I enjoyed Girl, Wash Your Face. I love her books and I find that I get a lot out of them. I rated this book 4 stars.

Shamed by Linda Castillo

This is the 11th novel in the Kate Burkholder series. I love this mystery series. I came across this series after watching a Lifetime movie which was based off the first novel in the series. I finish these books so quickly because they are so good and they have lots of different twists and turns. I rated this book 5 stars and if you like mysteries, I definitely recommend this series.

The Eleventh Victim by Nancy Grace

This novel (along with two others) are a series. I wanted to read these novels because the movies on Hallmark Mystery & Movies called the Hailey Dean Mysteries are based off these novels. The book threw me off because there was a whole second plot theme in this book that wasn't featured in the movie and it kept making me so confused about how it related to the other plot line. I had to force myself to read the chapters that in my opinion didn't relate to the main story. I rated this novel 2 stars.

You've Been Volunteered (A Class Mom Novel) by Laurie Gelman

I was so excited to find out that the author of Class Mom was coming out with a second novel. I loved this novel just as much as the first and I highly recommend reading both of these novels. I rated this book 5 stars.

  1. Sorry to hear When You Read This wasn't that great. I usually like books in letters, emails, etc too, and it's on my TBR! I wasn't interested in Girl, Wash Your Face, but I'm curious to check out this follow-up!

The Code For Love & Heartbreak -Jillian Cantor I saw this book on sale for $10 and thought it looked interesting. It was a cute story line. A little repetitive at places but overall I enjoyed it. I rated it 3 stars on the Goodreads website. When Less Becomes More -Emily Ley I love Emily Ley's books and I had the pleasure of meeting her at one of the Wild For Planners Go Wild Planner conferences. She is super sweet! I really enjoy her personal development books. I rated this book 3 stars. Heartstopper (Volume 4) -Alice Oseman I love this series so much. I love graphic novels and I really wish my library had more of them. I rated this book 4 stars. Bad Moms -Nora McInerny I like this movie (and the sequel A Bad Mom's Christmas) and I saw this at a discount store and I had no idea it was made into a novel. I enjoyed it. It wasn't my favorite book ever since I knew everything that happened since it stuck very close to the movie. I rated it 3 stars. Life, Unscheduled -K...

Books Read in January 2022

Heartstopper (Volume 3) -Alice Oseman While I was back home visiting my family for Christmas, I went to the mall with my dad and my nephews but I've been dealing with some health issues and my pain was really bad that day (and the mall was super crowded) so I ended up sitting in a chair at Barnes & Noble and reading the first two volumes of the Heartstopper series while they were shopping. I like this series. I love graphic novels but my library system doesn't have a lot of the ones I want to read and I will not buy graphic novels because I read them in a day. I rated this book 3 stars. Blame It On The Mistletoe -Beth Garrod I absolutely adored and loved this book so much. The characters, the plot, the setting... I loved it all. I rated this book 5 stars. Adequate Yearly Progress -Roxanna Elden I did not enjoy this book at all. I rated it 1 star. All I Want For Christmas -Wendy Loggia This is another super cute Christmas novel. I wasn't able to get to all of the Chr...
