Five on Friday on a Saturday.... First post of 2017

First off, Happy New Year! I can't believe this is my first blog post of 2017. One of my goals for 2017 is to start to blog more!

1. End of December: Surgery, Christmas, My 30th Birthday

The end of December was such a blur. On the 20th, I had my tonsils out and the surgery went well but the recovery was so very painful and honestly took a lot longer than I thought it would. It's been a month and I still don't have all of my energy back but my throat is feeling much better. Christmas was very low-key this year. Since I had surgery, I didn't go back to NY to visit family. My mom, step-dad, grandma and I celebrated Christmas at our house but honestly I mostly laid in bed and watched Christmas movies. On New Year's Eve, I turned 30. I still wasn't feeling well so I just went to Target and Office Max/Depot with my mom and then came home. Normally, we spend the day out shopping, going to the movies, and going out to eat but I definitely was not up for that this year. I did get to Facetime with my family in NY a few times during the Christmas break and my birthday. I am so thankful for technology because it allows me to be able to "see" my family in NY much more than I would be able to without it.

3. Girl with Autism sings Hallelujah

Listening to this beautiful girl sing this beautiful song brought tears to my eyes. I was so moved throughout the whole song. This is a very inspirational video!

4. La La Land with Ryan Gosling & Emma Stone

I recently saw this movie and it's amazing. I've always loved Ryan Gosling & Emma Stone and thought they were terrific but this movie just blew me away. They were so incredible and amazing. The music was out of this world fantastic. I was so happy from the start of the movie to the end. I would definitely recommend this movie with two thumbs way up!! Have you seen this movie? If so, what were your thoughts?

5. Emma Stone's Golden Globes Dress

Speaking of Emma Stone, the dress she wore to the 2017 Golden Globes was so very beautiful. Emma Stone is truly beautiful and she has great taste in the gowns she chooses for award shows. This dress is so beautiful and I love that she paid homage to the movie La La Land aka The City of Stars by wearing a dress with stars on it.
