Five on Friday

1. Rest Peacefully, Carter

A week ago today, my brother and his family had to put their dog Carter to sleep. He was 13 ½ years old and my brother and his wife got him when he was just a little puppy. I call my siblings dogs my fur nieces and nephews. Carter has been in my life for a long time and I loved him like he was my own dog. I have so many wonderful memories of him and with him. Rest peacefully, sweet boy.

^The above photos of Carter are so funny. I was trying to get a good picture of him & I but he kept giving me kisses.^
^These photos are so very precious & priceless to me.^

2. Weekend Recap

On Saturday, my mom and I went to the movies and out to eat with my Grandma. We saw Love The Coopers and it was a really good movie. My mom and I also went to a bunch of different stores. On Sunday, my mom and I spent the morning cleaning and getting stuff done. I watched the football games (Jets & Giants) in the afternoon since it was a rare treat that both games were televised where I live. At night, my Aunt Pat & Aunt Lorrie came over for dinner and desert. It was really nice getting to spend time with them. On Monday, my mom and I took the day off from our jobs and spent the day with my aunts. It was a really wonderful holiday weekend.

    1. Thank you so much, Mattie. Yes, it is really hard. One my last trip to see them, (at the end of October) when I said goodbye to him, I wish I had made it last longer now that I know it was my last time seeing him.

They were a lot of characters so in the beginning it was a little hard to follow (kind of like Love, Actually) but I really enjoyed it.

Thanks for stopping by and for the comment! :)

  2. :( I'm so sorry to hear about Carter. Dogs truly become part of the family and saying goodbye to them is one of the hardest parts of life I believe. Prayers for you all!

    1. Thank you so much, Mags for the beautiful comment. It was very hard losing him. Had I known during my last visit (at the end of October) that it would have been my last time seeing him, I would have made our goodbye last a really long time.

Books Read in February 2022

The Code For Love & Heartbreak -Jillian Cantor I saw this book on sale for $10 and thought it looked interesting. It was a cute story line. A little repetitive at places but overall I enjoyed it. I rated it 3 stars on the Goodreads website. When Less Becomes More -Emily Ley I love Emily Ley's books and I had the pleasure of meeting her at one of the Wild For Planners Go Wild Planner conferences. She is super sweet! I really enjoy her personal development books. I rated this book 3 stars. Heartstopper (Volume 4) -Alice Oseman I love this series so much. I love graphic novels and I really wish my library had more of them. I rated this book 4 stars. Bad Moms -Nora McInerny I like this movie (and the sequel A Bad Mom's Christmas) and I saw this at a discount store and I had no idea it was made into a novel. I enjoyed it. It wasn't my favorite book ever since I knew everything that happened since it stuck very close to the movie. I rated it 3 stars. Life, Unscheduled -K...

Books Read in January 2022

Heartstopper (Volume 3) -Alice Oseman While I was back home visiting my family for Christmas, I went to the mall with my dad and my nephews but I've been dealing with some health issues and my pain was really bad that day (and the mall was super crowded) so I ended up sitting in a chair at Barnes & Noble and reading the first two volumes of the Heartstopper series while they were shopping. I like this series. I love graphic novels but my library system doesn't have a lot of the ones I want to read and I will not buy graphic novels because I read them in a day. I rated this book 3 stars. Blame It On The Mistletoe -Beth Garrod I absolutely adored and loved this book so much. The characters, the plot, the setting... I loved it all. I rated this book 5 stars. Adequate Yearly Progress -Roxanna Elden I did not enjoy this book at all. I rated it 1 star. All I Want For Christmas -Wendy Loggia This is another super cute Christmas novel. I wasn't able to get to all of the Chr...

Books Read In December 2021 & End of Year Book Survey

In December, I read 6 books. The first three books I read are apart of a series. The series is called Moose Springs, Alaska by Sarah Morgenthaler. I rated all three of these books 3 stars on the Goodreads website. This was a super cute series. I really enjoyed these books. They were fun, light reads. I think the fourth book in the series comes out in 2021. Book 1: The Tourist Attraction Book 2: Mistletoe & Mr. Right Book 3: Enjoy The View The Holiday Switch -Tif Marcelo I loved this book so much. It was such a cute, fun, and festive read. This is on my list of my favorite books I've read this year. I rated this book 4 stars. The last two books I read this month are also apart of a series. I rated both of them 3 stars. Heartstopper (Volume 1) & Heartstopper (Volume 2) -Alice Oseman Top 10 Favorite Books of the Year: 1.       Malibu Rising –Taylor Jenkins Reid 2.               ...
