What's Up Wednesday: May Edition

1. What We're Eating This Week...

Monday: Pizza
Tuesday: Salmon & Caesar salad

and I don't know about the rest of the week.

2. What I'm Reminiscing About...

I've been thinking a lot lately about our annual Summer vacation we took while I was growing up to the lake. To this day, this is still one of my most favorite places to visit. A few years ago I had the opportunity to go back to the lake while I was visiting my family in NY during the Summer. When we used to go there every Summer growing up, it was always a dream of mine to one day have a Summer house on the lake. Obviously, when I was a kid, I wasn't realizing the cost of a Summer house on the lake. LOL.

3. What I'm Loving...

That during my three day weekend, I was able to Facetime with my nephew N on Sunday and my nephew J on Monday. I love getting to Facetime with my nephews & nieces especially since I don't get to see them in person nearly as much as I would like to.

4. What I've Been Up To...

I finished up my first full year of substituting last week. I love being in the classroom and working with the kids. Today is the last day of my after school care job. At home, I've started deep cleaning my room going section by section and re-organizing and de-cluttering as I go.

5. What I'm Dreading...

I'm so heartbroken over the fact that I will not be able to go to NY to visit my family this Summer. This has me very sad and depressed as I miss my family immensely and I only was able to go to NY twice last year (once for a three day weekend for my nephew N's communion and for one week in the Summer) and so far I've only been able to go back to visit once this year and it was just for a few days.

Bonus Question:
What's Your Favorite Vacation Spot?

Lake George, NY as I mentioned above. I have so many very fond memories made during our week long vacation there every Summer growing up. I also fell in love with the Caribbean and it's ocean during my first trip to Turks & Caicos in February of 2012. I was very lucky enough to be able to go there again this past February/March and I hope that I am lucky enough to go back to the Caribbean during my life. I also wish that it was possible to trade the Atlantic Ocean for the Caribbean ocean. I would be at the beach all of the time if that was possible.

Books Read in February 2022

The Code For Love & Heartbreak -Jillian Cantor I saw this book on sale for $10 and thought it looked interesting. It was a cute story line. A little repetitive at places but overall I enjoyed it. I rated it 3 stars on the Goodreads website. When Less Becomes More -Emily Ley I love Emily Ley's books and I had the pleasure of meeting her at one of the Wild For Planners Go Wild Planner conferences. She is super sweet! I really enjoy her personal development books. I rated this book 3 stars. Heartstopper (Volume 4) -Alice Oseman I love this series so much. I love graphic novels and I really wish my library had more of them. I rated this book 4 stars. Bad Moms -Nora McInerny I like this movie (and the sequel A Bad Mom's Christmas) and I saw this at a discount store and I had no idea it was made into a novel. I enjoyed it. It wasn't my favorite book ever since I knew everything that happened since it stuck very close to the movie. I rated it 3 stars. Life, Unscheduled -K...

Books Read in January 2022

Heartstopper (Volume 3) -Alice Oseman While I was back home visiting my family for Christmas, I went to the mall with my dad and my nephews but I've been dealing with some health issues and my pain was really bad that day (and the mall was super crowded) so I ended up sitting in a chair at Barnes & Noble and reading the first two volumes of the Heartstopper series while they were shopping. I like this series. I love graphic novels but my library system doesn't have a lot of the ones I want to read and I will not buy graphic novels because I read them in a day. I rated this book 3 stars. Blame It On The Mistletoe -Beth Garrod I absolutely adored and loved this book so much. The characters, the plot, the setting... I loved it all. I rated this book 5 stars. Adequate Yearly Progress -Roxanna Elden I did not enjoy this book at all. I rated it 1 star. All I Want For Christmas -Wendy Loggia This is another super cute Christmas novel. I wasn't able to get to all of the Chr...

Books Read In December 2021 & End of Year Book Survey

I rated all three of these books 3 stars on the Goodreads website. This was a super cute series. I really enjoyed these books. They were fun, light reads. I think the fourth book in the series comes out in 2021. Book 1: The Tourist Attraction Book 2: Mistletoe & Mr. Right Book 3: Enjoy The View The Holiday Switch -Tif Marcelo I loved this book so much. It was such a cute, fun, and festive read. This is on my list of my favorite books I've read this year. I rated this book 4 stars. The last two books I read this month are also apart of a series. I rated both of them 3 stars. Heartstopper (Volume 1) & Heartstopper (Volume 2) -Alice Oseman Top 10 Favorite Books of the Year: 1.       Malibu Rising –Taylor Jenkins Reid 2.               ...
